What a tow bar is, and who needs one

A tow bar is a fitting attached to a car that lets it tow a trailer, a caravan or any other equipment behind it. An ordinary private car does not come with one as standard, so anyone who needs to tow something - for a house move, a trip, carrying equipment or transporting a vehicle - runs into exactly that obstacle the moment they try to rent a car.

We keep cars fitted with a tow bar in the fleet, and you can rent them on the same terms as any other car with us - including as a new or young driver from age 17. Choose your collection and return times, and we will find you the car that suits what you need to tow.

Before you book

It is worth knowing in advance exactly what you will be towing and how much it weighs, because that is what decides which vehicle category is right. If you are not sure - call us or write on WhatsApp, and we will go through it together before you book.

The types of insurance, in plain language

  • Compulsory insurance

Cover for the driver, the passengers and pedestrians in the event of bodily injury caused by an accident.

  • Third-party insurance

Cover in the event of damage to a third party's vehicle or property - not to the rented car itself.

  • Comprehensive insurance

Cover for the rented car in the event of theft, fire or unforeseen accidental damage.

Before collection

What to bring, and what's included

What is already included in the price, and what it is worth having with you at the branch on collection day.

  • What to bring to collection

A valid physical driving licence, held for the whole rental period, and a credit card in the renter's name. That is all you need.

  • The deposit is a hold on the card, not a charge

You need 4,000-5,000 ₪ of available credit, and the exact amount for your booking is shown in the booking. It is held on the card for the rental period and released when the rental ends.

  • Tell us what you are towing

The type of trailer or equipment and its total weight, and we will match you with a car whose tow bar suits exactly that. What you can tow is explained in the section above.

  • Compulsory, third-party and comprehensive insurance included

The car is insured from the moment you set off, and a new or young driver is covered too. At the coverage and insurance step of the booking you can also reduce the excess, if you would like the extra peace of mind.

  • Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pick-up

Changing your plans before that window costs you nothing. What applies to your booking is shown on the car card while you are still searching, before you book.

  • Pick up and return even when the branch is closed

By arrangement you can collect and return the car outside opening hours, and you are not charged for the time until the branch opens. We answer the phone and WhatsApp throughout the day.

The insurance terms for towing are set out in the insurance section on this page, and we are always happy to explain them by phone before you book.

Frequently asked questions

  • No. A tow bar is fitted to some of the cars in the fleet. A booking on the site is for a vehicle category, so it is worth noting that you need a tow bar in the booking notes, or arranging it with us by phone, so we can make sure the car waiting for you is fitted with one.
