A car with a tow bar, for whatever you need to tow

A trailer, a caravan, a motorcycle or heavy equipment - we will find you a car equipped to tow it, even if you are a new driver from age 17.

  • From age 17
  • New drivers too

What a tow bar is, and who needs one

A tow bar is a fitting attached to a car that lets it tow a trailer, a caravan or any other equipment behind it. An ordinary private car does not come with one as standard, so anyone who needs to tow something - for a house move, a trip, carrying equipment or transporting a vehicle - runs into exactly that obstacle the moment they try to rent a car.

We keep cars fitted with a tow bar in the fleet, and you can rent them on the same terms as any other car with us - including as a new or young driver from age 17. Choose your collection and return times, and we will find you the car that suits what you need to tow.

Before you book

It is worth knowing in advance exactly what you will be towing and how much it weighs, because that is what decides which vehicle category is right. If you are not sure - call us or write on WhatsApp, and we will go through it together before you book.

Frequently asked questions

  • No. A tow bar is fitted to some of the cars in the fleet. A booking on the site is for a vehicle category, so it is worth noting that you need a tow bar in the booking notes, or arranging it with us by phone, so we can make sure the car waiting for you is fitted with one.
